Mauritius Sugarcane Industry Research Institute (MSIRI)

MSIRI is the primary R&D institution in Mauritius focused on sugarcane and related agricultural research. Its mission is to conduct high‑quality research and development to improve sugarcane crop productivity, enhance industry competitiveness, explore technical and engineering innovations for factory processes, and support research on other approved crops. The institute operates under the Mauritius Cane Industry Authority (MCIA) with guidance from a Research & Development Committee and undertakes collaborative projects, training, and consultancies in the sector.
