African Biosafety Network of Expertise (ABNE)

The African Biosafety Network of Expertise is a continent‑wide biosafety service and resource network established to support African regulators, policymakers and stakeholders in building and strengthening functional biosafety regulatory systems. Its mission includes capacity building, technical assistance, policy dialogue, biosafety training, and information services to enable safe and responsible use of modern agricultural biotechnology in African countries. ABNE is an initiative of the African Union Development Agency – NEPAD (AUDA‑NEPAD) and aligns with recommendations from the High‑Level African Panel on Modern Biotechnology.
