Marondera University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology
Marondera University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology was born out of a strategic need to modernize Zimbabwe's agrarian economy through specialized education and technological innovation. It officially became an independent institution in August 2017, after an incubation period under the University of Zimbabwe. Operating from three distinct campuses, Dozmery, CSC, and the Main Campus at Cloverhill Farm, MUAST serves as a vital engine for national food security and sustainable development in the Mashonaland East Province.
The mission of MUAST is to produce competent, skilled, and knowledgeable graduates who can transform agricultural communities and industries through innovative teaching, research, and industrialization. This mandate is carried out through six specialized faculties focused on everything from biosystems engineering to plant and animal science. Under the leadership of Professor Justice Nyamangara, the university has embraced a "commercialization" agenda, encouraging students and staff to move beyond traditional farming and develop market-ready, technology-driven solutions for the 4IR (Fourth Industrial Revolution) era.
