National Center for Nuclear Sciences and Technologies (CNSTN)
The National Center for Nuclear Sciences and Technologies (Centre National des Sciences et Technologies Nucléaires - CNSTN) is Tunisia’s lead governmental agency for the peaceful application of nuclear science. The center is a public research institution under the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. It plays a critical role in providing technical expertise to the government and private sectors in fields ranging from medicine and agriculture to industry and environmental protection.
The mission of CNSTN is focused on spearheading the mastery and development of nuclear techniques to catalyze the transition toward a technologically advanced and safer Tunisia. This mandate involves executing priority R&D through its specialized laboratories, such as those for Isotopic Hydrology and Radio-pharmaceuticals, providing authoritative technical guidance on radiation protection and nuclear safety, and acting as the primary national interface for international cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and CERN.
