Institut National de la Recherche Agronomique (INRA)
The Institut National de la Recherche Agronomique (INRA) of Morocco is the nation’s primary public body dedicated to agricultural science and innovation. The institute is headquartered in Rabat and currently operates under the aegis of the Ministry of Agriculture as the scientific engine behind the "Generation Green 2020–2030" strategy. In February 2026, INRA launched the preparation for the fifth phase of its Medium-Term Global Program (MCGP 2026–2030), focusing on climate-resilient farming and water efficiency. Led by Director Professor Faouzi Bekkaoui (with senior leadership including Research Directors like Dr. Rachid Mrabet), the institute manages a massive network of 10 Regional Agricultural Research Centers and 23 experimental stations covering Morocco’s diverse agrosystems, from the olive groves of Meknès to the date palms of Errachidia.
