Université Cadi Ayyad

Year established 1978

Université Cadi Ayyad (UCA) is particularly renowned for its scientific research output and its decentralized network of 13 institutions across the Marrakech-Safi region, including campuses in Safi, Essaouira, and El Kelaa des Sraghna. A hallmark of its international prestige is the Oukaimeden Observatory in the Atlas Mountains, which has gained global acclaim for the discovery of comets and near-Earth objects. Under its current strategic vision, the university is heavily invested in digital transformation and "responsible excellence," hosting major international summits like the 2026 International Congress on Territorial Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CITE) to bridge the gap between academic research and sustainable regional development.
