The Africa Harvest Biotech Foundation International (Africa Harvest), established in 2002, is a globally recognized organization registered in the USA, Kenya, South Africa, Canada, and Zambia, with its headquarters located in Nairobi, Kenya. For over 20 years, Africa Harvest has promoted adoption of sustainable agricultural innovations, benefiting over 2 million smallholder households through various interventions, across 22 African countries, including Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Burundi, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Cameroon, Malawi, Ghana, Burkina Faso, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), South Africa, Madagascar, Mozambique, Rwanda, Mauritius, Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, Senegal, Zimbabwe and Zambia.
Guided by its 5-year Strategic Plan (2023–2027), Africa Harvest aims to reach 10 million beneficiaries across East, West, Southern, and Central Africa. The organization utilizes a holistic value chain approach to enhance farmers’, increase food production and productivity, improve nutritional security, enhance climate resilience and increase incomes. Its key focus areas include integrated value chain development, deployment of improved crop and livestock technologies, climate-smart agriculture, gender equity and inclusion, youth empowerment, and sustainable natural resource management.
